Meet our Senior Pastor

Pastor Eric was born in Canyonville Oregon.  The son of a pastor, he grew up as a PK (Pastor's Kid) moving around to different parts of the northwest.  He became a Christian as a child and a follower of Jesus during his second year as a pastor.  "When you realize just how big and real this thing people call grace is, it turns your life inside out and you'll never want your old life back, " he says.

Eric met his wife Robin while they were both attending college in Washington state.  They married and moved to Boise Idaho where she taught and he pastored a small church plant reaching out to young adults near Boise State University.  After a stint in grad school they found themselves back in Boise where their two children, Aaron and Alyssa joined the family.

The Browns joined the RCC family in 2005.  They quickly discovered that becoming a "Californian" was fairly painless and have brought joy and life to the church.

When Robin isn't teaching she loves to scrapbook.  Aaron loves just about any sport his parents will let him play and Alyssa is a ballarina in training.  If you can't find Pastor Eric in the office you might find him on the back of a horse or up to his elbows in sawdust in the woodshop.

Riverside Community Church is a Purpose Driven Church and uses Natural Church Development to build a healthy church family.  As a nationally certified Coach Trainer, Pastor Eric occasionally travels to train Natural Church Development coaches.  But most weekends you'll find him doing something just a little bit crazy as he finds ways to make the Bible easy to understand and memorable.

Current Sermon Series

  •

Its a driving hunger, a basic emotional need, the thing everybody thinks would solve the worlds problems.  Songs have been sung and books written about the art, the science, and the mystery of Love.  There are more definitions of love than people to share them.  There is more hunger for love than people to give it.  Even God says it defines his very essence.  So why is true love so hard to find?  Maybe because there is a terrible shortage of true lovers in the world to give it.  In this series we're going to bypass the countless pop-culture definitions of love and see if we can experience a taste of what the Creator of "love" had in mind when He first set the world spinning.
